Dr. Boyd Vaziri, M. D.
Boyd Vaziri, MD is an ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive cataract
surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, LASIK Eye Surgery, glaucoma, eyelid
surgery, diabetic eye management, and comprehensive eye care at Fisher
Eye & Laser Center. Having performed thousands of cataract surgeries, his
practice focuses on reducing his patients’ dependency on glasses following
cataract surgery. He achieves this by using astigmatism reduction techniques
and multifocal lens implants.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. His internship and ophthalmology residency was at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons. Prior to joining Fisher Eye & Laser Center, Dr. Vaziri was in private practice in North Carolina for 15 years.
Dr. Vaziri is one of few surgeons in Naples who specialize in Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery, a novel technique that enhances the precision, safety, and predictability of cataract surgery. Laser cataract surgery has been demonstrated to increase the accuracy of intraocular lens placement, reduce the amount of ultrasound time and energy used to remove the cataract, and allow for more reliable and smooth cataract extraction.
Dr. Vaziri lives in Naples and enjoys jet skiing, sailing, and fishing with his family. He also relishes his time on a tennis court.
